These paintings explore the relationship between the limestone landscape and the plants that make their home within it. Finding shelter in tiny crevices and pockets of soil, these plants have adapted to thrive in seemingly inhospitable places. Their resilience is remarkable, but also a reminder of how fragile these finely balanced ecosystems are. As climate change increasingly alters the conditions on which plants depend, their future becomes less certain. I wanted to reflect on the earth as both a place of shelter and a fragile home, and on our responsibility to protect the delicate relationships that allow life to flourish.
